There are decisions we make because life is going well, and there are decisions that have to remain true even when life changes.
Following Jesus has become that kind of decision for me.
Made Up My Mind came from thinking about what it really means to say yes to Christ—not only in the moments when faith feels easy, but through the questions, the waiting and the seasons when obedience costs something.

There isn’t much to hide behind in those words. They’re a confession and, in many ways, a prayer.
I want to keep choosing Jesus.

One of my favourite lines in the song says:
I’ve made up my mind to follow Jesus anywhere He goes.
That line means a lot to me because following Jesus isn’t really about asking Him to come along with the plans we’ve already made. It’s learning to follow His lead.
Sometimes that takes us into places we expected. Sometimes it doesn’t. But the confidence isn’t in knowing exactly where the road leads; it’s in knowing the One we’re following.
The song calls Jesus the Lamb, the Light of the world and the Giver of life because that’s the reason the decision makes sense in the first place.
We follow because of who He is.

Those words felt at home in this song because trust sits at the heart of following Jesus.
We don’t follow because we can predict everything ahead of us. We follow because we’ve come to know the One leading us.
And the longer I walk with Christ, the more meaningful that prayer becomes:
